While Samsung announced a slew of phones at "Mobile Asia 2008", others weren't to be left behind.
LG Electronics showcased its range of phones, including the LG Viewty (KU990), InteractPad-based KF600, interactive touch-lighting phone KF510, and smart phone KS20.
First up, the LG Viewty is a professional-level camera phone that includes features found on many high-end stand-alone cameras, including a manual focus option, an image stabilizer, and an ISO up to 800 for indoor or night shooting. The phone comes equipped with a 5 mega pixels camera and a 3-inches touch screen.
Next, the LG-KF600 is said to be so intuitive that it seems to be able to read your mind. The phone's InteractPad replaces physical buttons with virtual navigation keys that feed-forward menus that are tailored to fit the task at hand, eliminating the need to memorize which key does what.
Then, the LG-KF510 is an extra-slim slider phone that provides animated feedback to users with its touch-sensitive LED panel. It has two design schemes: Gradated metallic Stardust Dark Gray and Sunset Red. Other features include: camera with a startup time of about one second, MP3 player, and the ability to record and play back QVGA video.
Last from the LG stable, is an updated version of LG-KS20, a slim smart phone. LG-KS20 features full Internet browsing capabilities, and claims to download everything from music and video clips to push email at speeds of 3.6 Mbps through HSDPA. The phone also allows for advanced features like video-conferencing, as also taking advantage of dual cameras. It uses an intuitive touch-input technology, and is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 software.
Sony Ericsson unveiled its new XPERIA X1, a stand-out arc-slider phone. Also powered by Windows Mobile 6, the phone combines a 3-inches clear wide VGA display and a full QWERTY keyboard within a metal-finish body.
Nokia meanwhile, showcased its 6210 Navigator, successor to the 6110. The 6210 Navigator is projected as the company's first GPS-enabled mobile device with an integrated compass for pedestrian guidance. The device comes with Nokia Maps 2.0, and includes full voice and visual turn-by-turn guidance at no extra cost.
Last but not the least, Intex showed-off ten phones, out of which seven are already on the market.
The Intex phones cater to the basic, mid-end, and high-end user segment, and include: Infi I - 0315, Envy I- 1044, Estelo I-3060, Aura I-1224, Ultima I-1170, and IN-2020. The last on the list comes for less than Rs 2,000 range, and has 25 days battery back-up and up to 7-and-a-half hours talk time, Intex claims.
