So, I thought I'd take a minute to update everyone on recent developments, and why I haven't been posting near as much as I should.
Long story short, I took a new position a couple of months ago. I'm still in the realm of IT Operations, but my scope is radically different. I'm now more involved in systems design and implementation, project management, and serving as a SME for IT Operations best practices, along with standard system and network administration. It was a great move, and I'm very happy in my new role.
Of course, with the new role came new projects, new responsibilities, and a new learning curve. I've literally been buried the last two months. It's been a lot of fun, but I haven't had much time left over for sleeping, let alone blogging. Fortunately, I've established a rhythm, and things are now much more organized, which gives me some breathing room.
So what does that mean for the blog? Well, I'm not changing the name. "Tales of the systems design and implementation samurai" just doesn't have the same ring. And I'm still involved with Help Desk and tech support, just in more of an advisor role.
What I plan on doing is expanding the blog's focus. Over the last year, I've principally written about IT management. That won't change, but I'm going to add some additional subject matter about IT infrastructure, projects, and systems.
Thanks for sticking with me.
